The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, announced Galambi’s defection during a plenary session on Thursday.
Reading from a letter submitted by the lawmaker, Abbas stated that Galambi’s decision was influenced by the deepening crisis within the NNPP, which had eroded the confidence of his constituents.
The letter also highlighted ongoing litigations and factional disagreements that, according to Galambi, posed a threat to the party’s future.
Expressing appreciation for the NNPP, Galambi acknowledged the platform it provided for his election but emphasized his commitment to aligning with the APC’s governance approach, particularly under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
