He made the appeal following a special rain-seeking prayer (Salatul Istisqa) held on Saturday at the Umar Bin Khattab Mosque in Kano. The prayer was led by Dr. Ibrahim Sale Kumurya and attended by several prominent Islamic scholars, government officials, and respected community leaders.

Sheikh Khalil stressed that engaging in acts of kindness and fulfilling religious obligations were essential steps toward invoking divine intervention. “Charity and good deeds attract Allah’s mercy and can bring prosperity to the land,” he said.

The cleric also emphasized the importance of mending broken relationships with Allah and fellow human beings. He called on those who may have wronged others to seek forgiveness and reconcile.

While acknowledging the community’s shared struggle due to the lack of rainfall, Sheikh Khalil hinted that further prayer sessions would be organized if the drought continues.

Other scholars and leaders present reiterated the need for spiritual commitment and social responsibility, urging the public to remain steadfast in faith and action. They expressed hope that through sincere repentance and communal effort, the region would soon experience relief.
