Residents of the 13 frontline local government areas in Katsina State who were denied access to mobile telecommunication service due to the incessant banditry attacks in their community will start enjoying the services once again as government has concluded plans to lift the ban.

The Special Adviser on Security Matters in the state, Ibrahim Katsina, revealed this in a telephone conversation with DAILY POST on Friday.

“As I speak to you, network have been restored in some local government areas,” Katsina was quoted to have said.

Recall that the shut down of telecommunication networks implemented three months ago, was part of the measures adopted by the state government to contain the security challenges experienced in the state.

The 13 local governments disconnected from the mobile telecommunication network include: Sabuwa, Faskari, Dandume, Batsari, Danmusa, Kankara, Jibia, Safana, Dutsin-Ma, Funtua, Bakori, Malumfashi and Kurfi LGA.

Kaduna and Jigawa State Governments had since restored telecommunication network in the affected frontline areas of the state.
