Beatrice Ekweremadu, wife of former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has returned to Enugu following her release from a United Kingdom prison.

Mrs. Ekweremadu, along with her husband and Dr. Obinna Obeta, was convicted by a UK court for involvement in an organ harvesting case.

The couple allegedly tried to purchase a kidney from a young boy in Nigeria, intending to use it as a transplant for their daughter, Sophia.

Senator Ekweremadu received a 10-year sentence, while his wife was handed a six-year term.

Her return has sparked reactions across Enugu State, with many hoping for the swift return of Senator Ekweremadu.
