In a statement issued by the State Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Barr. Ibrahim Garba Kagara, the initiative covers 99 constituency projects and seven executive projects located in the state’s 44 local government areas.

“The objective of the exercise is to ensure that execution of the projects has been done faithfully and according to specifications for the benefit of the citizens to cut down wastages and corruption and to ensure proper application of government resources,” Kagara stated.

He urged communities to actively monitor and take ownership of the projects in their areas, advising them to report any irregularities to the commission.

The tracking exercise will be conducted in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the media, the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS), the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), and civil society organisations.

Kagara highlighted the importance of this multi-stakeholder approach in enhancing transparency and ensuring accountability in public project implementation.
