The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has officially opened its recruitment portal for tax officers nationwide, effective November 2, 2024.

The application process follows the service’s announcement to recruit Tax Officers I and Tax Officers in several states, including Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Ekiti, Lagos, and Oyo.

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply through the official FIRS recruitment portal at www.firs.gov.ng/careers.

How to Apply: Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Check Eligibility

Age Limit: Must be 27 years old or below by December 31, 2024.

NYSC Completion: Must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) no later than December 31, 2021.

Educational Qualifications: Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in First Class or Second Class Upper Division in relevant disciplines, including Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, and Law.

Step 2: Complete the Application Form

Visit the official FIRS recruitment portal at www.firs.gov.ng/careers.

Fill out the online application form accurately to avoid issues. Ensure you use the official website to prevent scams.

Step 3: Upload Required Documents

Prepare and upload clear copies of the necessary documents, which include:

Academic certificates (Bachelor’s Degree or HND).

NYSC discharge certificate.

Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA).

A recent passport photograph.

Note any confirmation or reference number provided after submission.

Step 4: Monitor Your Email

After submitting your application, regularly check your email for any communications from FIRS regarding your application status.

Step 5: Participate in Assessments and Interviews

Be prepared for assessments, which may include aptitude tests and interviews. Demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and suitability for the role.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for these assessments.
