Sunday, a Senior Secondary School 3 (SS3) student at United Comprehensive College, was reportedly shot dead on his family’s farm on Saturday, May 3, just a day before he was scheduled to write his first West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) paper.

Local accounts indicate that the teenager was on the farm with his two younger siblings when suspected assailants launched an attack. While his brothers managed to escape unharmed, Sunday was fatally shot in the head and died on the spot.

Though the exact motive remains uncertain, community members suspect the involvement of herders, citing ongoing tensions in the area.

Community leaders and concerned citizens have also called on authorities to ensure justice is served and to bolster protection for farming families in the region.
