The Kano State Hisbah Board has announced plans to conduct sermons at the Janguza correctional facility and the Nassarawa children’s home to promote moral reform among residents.

Chairman of the Board, Sheikh Abbas Abubakar Daneji, disclosed this on Wednesday during a visit to the Janguza facility. He explained that the initiative aligns with the directive of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to alleviate the hardships faced by inmates and residents in such institutions.
The visit, which also included stopovers at the Goron Dutse correctional facility, the Nassarawa children’s home, and the Tudun Maliki psychiatric center, featured the distribution of cooked meals, soft drinks, water, and fresh fruits such as oranges, watermelon, and pineapple to hundreds of residents.
Sheikh Ali Dan Abba, the Second Commissioner of the Hisbah Board, told journalists that the gesture is part of the board’s broader mission to foster peace and provide humanitarian support across Kano State.
The officer in charge of Janguza correctional facility, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC) Danlami Inuwa, expressed appreciation for the donation of food and beverages for about 400 individuals, calling on the public to extend similar kindness to inmates.
Also reacting, Assistant Controller Kafilu Abdullah Nassarawa, who oversees operations at the Goron Dutse correctional facility, thanked the Hisbah Board for the visit and their continuous support.
The Hisbah Chairman was accompanied during the visits by the First Commissioner of the Board, Gwani AbdulHadi Dahiru Yakasai, Second Commissioner Sheikh Ali Dan Abba, directors, and other staff members.
