A total of 26 individuals have been apprehended by the Kano State Hisbah Board during a weekend operation at Grace Palace Hotel over allegations of engaging in inappropriate activities.

The arrest, which involved 14 women and 12 men, was carried out on Saturday after the board received public complaints concerning what was described as immoral conduct at the hotel. Deputy Commander General of the board, Dr. Mujahid Aminuddeen, confirmed the arrest during a phone interview on Monday.
Hisbah operatives also seized several cartons of assorted alcoholic drinks during the operation, noting that many of the suspects appeared intoxicated at the time of arrest.
The board acknowledged the assistance of military personnel, which it said played a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of the raid. It further urged residents to report any suspicious or unethical activities in hotels or residential areas, assuring that swift action would be taken.
According to the board, the operation forms part of its ongoing campaign to tackle social vices and promote moral discipline in the state.
