President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain patient with his administration, promising that the country is on the verge of significant improvements.

In a video released by the State House on August 7, 2024, Tinubu acknowledged the hardships caused by the recent removal of fuel subsidies.

“Fellow Nigerians, this period may be hard on us and there’s no doubt that it is tough on us but I urge you all to look beyond the present temporary pains and aim at the larger picture. All our good and helpful plans are in the works. More importantly, I know that they would work. Sadly, there was an avoidable lag between subsidy removal and these plans coming fully on line,” he stated.

Tinubu reassured citizens that the measures being implemented will help resolve the ongoing economic crisis. He emphasized his commitment to improving the country and asked for public trust in his administration’s efforts.“I plead with you, please, have faith in our ability to deliver and in our concern for your well-being. We will get out of this turbulence and due to the measures we have taken, Nigeria will be better equipped and able to take advantage of the future that awaits her,” he said.

The President highlighted upcoming initiatives, such as making education more affordable and providing financial support to higher education students. “No Nigerian students will have to abandon higher education system because of lack of money,” he assured.

This addresses the second time Tinubu has publicly reached out amid the ongoing tension in various parts of the country.
