In a distressing incident, two individuals have been abducted from the bustling Mpape area in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The gunmen struck in the early hours of Sunday, forcibly taking the residents away.

Yakubu, a local resident, recounted the terrifying event, stating, “At about 1 am today, gunmen numbering six came to our area, shot sporadically while the operation lasted, and kidnapped two people.”

The spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident.

However, there is a glimmer of hope as the victims have been successfully rescued by the police and will soon be reunited with their families.

Adeh assured the public that efforts to apprehend the culprits are underway. She said, “There was a swift response from our men from Mpape and the command tactical team.” She said.

Adding that “They mounted pressure on the criminals, which forced them to leave behind the victims. They would soon be reunited with their family members. We are also on the trail of the suspects.”
