Gunmen have launched another attack on Lakwaya in Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State, abducting five people and throwing the community into fear.

The incident occurred on Sunday night at Zurin Mahauta village, when the assailants reportedly invaded the area under the cover of darkness and whisked their victims away to an unknown destination.
Confirming the attack, the village head of Zurin Mahauta, Alhaji Murtala Mai Unguwa, said the gunmen struck late at night, leaving residents terrified. He explained that security agencies were immediately alerted and responded promptly to the distress call.
Mai Unguwa said efforts are ongoing to track down the kidnappers and rescue the abducted persons, but expressed deep concern over the recurring attacks on the community. He called on the authorities to deploy a permanent security presence to safeguard lives and property in the area.
The Public Relations Officer of the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Captain Babatunde Zubairu, also confirmed the incident. He stated that five individuals were kidnapped during the attack and assured that troops are actively working to ensure the victims are safely rescued.
