Armed men attacked Faruruwa village in Shanono Local Government Area, Kano State, on Thursday night, killing two residents, abducting one, and injuring two others.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. when suspected kidnappers stormed the community’s market, opening fire on the residents.
Local authorities confirmed that the two injured victims are currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
Shanono Local Government Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Barau, condemned the attack and expressed concern over the increasing insecurity in border communities, particularly those near Katsina State.
He assured that efforts are underway to restore security in the area to protect lives and property.
Barau also stated that security personnel have initiated investigations into the incident and that the local government will fully cooperate with the authorities throughout the process.
He urged residents of Faruruwa to remain calm and collaborate with security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are caught and brought to justice. He extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
