The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, was described by residents as a rampage by the assailants, who moved from house to house, wreaking havoc.

A resident, who spoke to Channels Television on Friday under the condition of anonymity, revealed that about 15 people were killed during the attack, while several others remain unaccounted for.

“The hoodlums also burnt some of the corpses,” the resident disclosed.

Baure village is reportedly known as a hotspot for bandit activities, with the criminals having significant control over the area.

Confirming the incident, the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, said, “Yes, it is true. But I am trying to put all the details together so that I will keep you posted.”
