Panic has gripped residents of Isapa, a village near Eruku in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, after gunmen launched another violent raid and abducted 11 people.

The latest attack happened on Monday around 6 p.m., barely 24 hours after worshippers earlier kidnapped during a church service in the area were released.

Just last week, armed men stormed a thanksgiving service at Christ Apostolic Church in nearby Ekuru, killing three people and abducting 38 others who had gathered to celebrate the freedom of 18 members kidnapped a month earlier.

According to residents, about 20 to 30 armed men invaded Isapa, shooting sporadically and forcing families to flee into nearby bushes. In the chaos, an elderly woman was hit by a stray bullet.

A community leader, who requested anonymity for security reasons, confirmed that 11 people were taken in the attack. Seven of the victims were seized from the same household, including a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and several children.

Those abducted were identified as: Talatu Kabiru (20), Magaji (6), Kande (5), Hadiza (10), Mariam (6), Saima (5), Habibat (housewife), Fatima Yusufu (housewife), Sarah Sunday (22, pregnant), Lami Fidelis (23, nursing mother), and Haja Na Allah (nursing mother).

Witnesses said the gunmen moved from house to house, firing at doors and walls. After the attackers withdrew, residents found several used AK-47 cartridges littering the area.
