A multimedia journalist with Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), publishers of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential, Salis Manaja, has been kidnapped by suspected gunmen while travelling to Ilorin, Kwara State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday as Manaja was en route from Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, to attend the PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship programme, Sahara Reporters reports.

Sources close to the journalist confirmed that his family had been contacted by the kidnappers, who demanded a ransom, though the specific amount has not been disclosed.
Speaking on the incident, the programme’s lead, Muhammad Dahiru Lawal, expressed deep concern over Manaja’s disappearance, noting that several efforts to reach him by phone have been unsuccessful.
He added that the exact location where the abduction took place remains unknown.
The PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship is an annual initiative organised by IMPR to train emerging journalists and communication professionals across cities such as Kano, Abuja, and Ilorin.
Security agencies are yet to release an official statement on the abduction as investigations continue.
