The governor’s surprise was palpable as he learned that individuals involved in the illegal drug trade had successfully obtained judicial orders to retrieve their seized contraband. He voiced his bewilderment over the judges’ decisions to issue such controversial orders, underscoring the gravity of the issue.

Disturbed by this development, Governor Yusuf has directed the state Attorney General to devise a comprehensive plan to prevent drug traffickers from exploiting legal loopholes. He emphasized the critical need for collaboration between the judiciary and the government to safeguard the state against the dangers posed by drug trafficking.

Acknowledging KAROTA’s efforts in intercepting illicit drugs, the governor urged the agency to take the necessary measures to ensure the destruction of confiscated substances. He reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to fighting drug smuggling and assured continued support for agencies dedicated to combating drug trafficking and abuse.

Governor Yusuf stressed the urgent necessity for a unified effort to protect Kano State from the scourge of illicit drugs, highlighting the seriousness of the drug trafficking challenge and calling for immediate action to address this pressing issue.
