Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has urged the Fulani community in the state to continue prioritizing peaceful coexistence with other ethnic groups.

The governor made this appeal during the celebration of National Pulako Day, organized by the Fulbe Development and Cultural Organisation, Kano State chapter, in honor of the United Nations Day of Indigenous Peoples.

Represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Usman Aliyu, Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of the Fulani culture and heritage in maintaining peace and unity within the state. He also highlighted the need to strengthen the relationship between the Fulani and Hausa communities.

“The Fulani are known for their peaceful nature. We must avoid anything that could disrupt the harmony in our society. Let us join hands with other ethnic groups to build a brighter future for our state and country,” Yusuf said.

Speaking at the event, Professor Umaru Pate, Vice Chancellor of Federal University Kashere, Gombe State, urged all Nigerians to avoid blaming any ethnic group for the nation’s challenges. He called for unity, fairness, and mutual respect among Nigerians regardless of ethnicity or religion.

Pate also emphasized the Fulani’s unique wealth, which is primarily based on cattle, and the importance of providing proper grazing land to support their livelihoods.
