Daily News 24 reports that this announcement was made on Tuesday in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, as part of the state’s activities to mark the 2025 International Children’s Day.
The statement highlighted the governor’s commitment to ensuring the safety, welfare, and development of children across the state. It noted that the campaign is part of broader efforts by the administration to create a safe and supportive environment for all children.
Governor Yusuf’s administration has taken steps to strengthen child protection laws, improve access to basic education, and expand health services across all 44 local government areas of the state.
The statement also noted that the government has increased budgetary allocations to key sectors affecting children, including education, healthcare, and social welfare.
In addition, the governor recently signed into law the bill establishing the Kano State Social Protection Agency (KASPA), which is expected to lead efforts in providing support for vulnerable groups in the state.
The declaration of a state of emergency in the education sector was also reaffirmed in the statement as part of ongoing efforts to eliminate barriers that hinder children from achieving their full potential.
