Gwarzo condemned the vandalism, describing it as a significant setback to the state’s digital development and Nigeria’s broader technological ambitions.

He expressed the government’s sympathies to the Ministry and assured that efforts were underway to restore the facility. Gwarzo mentioned that security agencies, with the help of local community leaders, have successfully recovered much of the stolen equipment.

He also shared that Governor Yusuf has instructed the Kano State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the damage and begin repairs immediately.

“We are committed to ensuring that this crucial facility is fully operational again as soon as possible,” Gwarzo said, reaffirming the state’s dedication to advancing its digital economy.

NSCDC returns items looted from NCC park during Kano protests

Earlier, Daily News 24 reported how the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command returned multi-million Naira equipment stolen during the recent nationwide protest in Kano.

The recovered items, which include two Cisco switches worth over N400 million, computers, air conditioners, executive chairs, and law publications, were handed over to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Kano State High Court.

The items were stolen by hoodlums from the NCC’s Digital Industrial Park and the State High Court at the Audu Bako Secretariat complex.

The NSCDC’s Critical National Asset and Infrastructure (CNAI) department successfully recovered the stolen goods shortly after they were looted.

Mr. Aminu Suleiman Birnin Chido, who received the items on behalf of the NCC, expressed gratitude to the NSCDC, praising their swift and effective response. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the strong relationship between the two organizations.

A representative from the State High Court also commended the NSCDC for their patriotism in safeguarding public assets.

Commandant Mohammed Lawal Falala reaffirmed the NSCDC’s dedication to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure across Kano State.
