Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the dismissal of two senior aides over separate cases of misconduct, while exonerating another following the outcome of investigative committee reports.

The decision, announced on Saturday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, affects Abubakar Umar Sharada, Senior Special Assistant on Political Mobilisation, and Tasiu Adamu Al’amin Roba, Senior Special Assistant, Cabinet Office.

Sharada was found culpable by a special investigative committee for his role in facilitating the controversial bail of a suspected drug baron, Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu. He has been directed to return all government property in his possession by Monday, August 11, 2025, and warned against presenting himself as a government official.

Roba, on the other hand, was removed from office following his arrest in connection with the rebagging of palliative grains at a warehouse in Sharada in 2024. He is currently facing trial for alleged theft and criminal conspiracy. He has also been ordered to surrender government assets, including his official identification, by the same date.

In contrast, Hon. Musa Ado Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainages, was cleared of all allegations after an investigative panel affirmed his innocence.

Governor Yusuf emphasized his administration’s zero tolerance for corruption and misconduct, urging public officers to maintain the highest ethical standards. The state government also warned the public against engaging the dismissed aides on any matter related to government business, stating that anyone who does so acts at their own risk.
