Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has nominated Mr. Saidu Yahya as the new Executive Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC).
The nomination was contained in a statement released on Thursday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, stating that the nominee’s name has been forwarded to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

Mr. Yahya, born in 1978, is a graduate of Economics from Bayero University Kano and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, specializing in Entrepreneurship and Venture Creation. He brings over 18 years of professional experience, mainly from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), where he served in key investigative roles.
Until his nomination, he was the Team Leader of the General Investigations and Constituency/Executive Projects Tracking Division and a member of the Directorate of Operations Task Force at ICPC. He is well-versed in corruption investigation, money laundering, illicit financial flows, and project monitoring.
Yahya has also undergone several trainings with institutions such as the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Justice, Defense Intelligence College, and others, enhancing his competence in investigative techniques and strategic operations.
In a related development, Governor Yusuf also approved the appointment of Barrister Hafsat Ada’u Kutama as the new Secretary and Legal Adviser to the PCACC. The outgoing Secretary, Barr. Zaharadden Hamisu Kofar Mata, is to be redeployed to the Ministry of Justice for further duties.
The governor expressed gratitude to the outgoing PCACC Chairman, Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, praising his dedication and steadfastness during his tenure. He noted that Muhuyi’s term officially ended in June 2025, after serving two terms as stipulated by law.
Governor Yusuf acknowledged Muhuyi’s contribution to promoting transparency and good governance, stating the administration remains open to future collaboration with him.
