Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of five individuals in a tragic motor accident that occurred near Shantake, about seven kilometers from Danbatta town, on Sunday.

The victims, believed to be from the same extended family, were returning from Bauchi after escorting a newlywed bride to her matrimonial home when their vehicle was involved in the fatal crash.
In a condolence statement released on Monday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf described the incident as a heartbreaking loss for the entire state.
“This tragedy has deeply touched us all. The pain of losing loved ones in such a horrific manner is unimaginable,” the governor stated. “On behalf of the government and people of Kano State, I extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to the affected families and the entire Danbatta community.”
Among those who perished in the crash were two children of Alhaji Surajo and three children of his younger brother, Alhaji Salisu Dan Raino.
Governor Yusuf prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and for strength and comfort for the grieving families. He also assured the people of Danbatta of the government’s support during this difficult time.
