Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has led a delegation of top dignitaries to the holy city of Madina in Saudi Arabia to attend the funeral of late business tycoon and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.

Dantata, known for his contributions to commerce, philanthropy, and community development, passed away in the early hours of Saturday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he spent his final days.

The trip was confirmed on Monday in a statement signed by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Joining Governor Yusuf on the condolence visit are the Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II; Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State; former Jigawa Governor Ali Saad Birnin Kudu; and other prominent personalities and senior government officials.

Before departing from Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Governor Yusuf described the late Dantata as “a father to many” and praised his life of generosity and service to humanity.

“The people and government of Kano hold him in the highest regard. His passing is a great loss, not just to Kano but to the entire nation,” the governor said.

The funeral in Madina is expected to attract mourners from across the globe, including family members, business leaders, government representatives, and Islamic scholars.

Alhaji Aminu Dantata will be remembered for his humility, deep faith, and lasting impact on Nigeria’s economic and social landscape.
