Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Tuesday officially launched the first phase of the state’s youth empowerment programme, aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs to establish and expand their businesses.

According to a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, a total of 5,384 young men and women have each received N150,000, bringing the total disbursed in this first tranche to N800,700,000.
Speaking at the event, Governor Yusuf said the initiative is part of his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of young people and encouraging them to actively participate in the business sector. He urged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely to grow their ventures and build a secure future.
The governor also appealed for patience from those still on the waiting list, assuring that the second tranche of the programme would be released soon. He reaffirmed that his administration will continue to implement policies that empower youth and create sustainable livelihoods across Kano State.
