Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has extended support to inmates in the state’s custodial centers by donating food items and 12 cows in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

The donation, facilitated by Hajiya Azumi Namadi-Bebeji, chairperson of the Kano State Committee for the Prerogative of Mercy, was announced in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Kano Command, CSC Musbahu Kofar-Nasarawa.
Among the items presented were bags of rice, vegetable oil, onions, and seasonings, in addition to the 12 cows.
Speaking on the gesture, Hajiya Namadi-Bebeji highlighted the state government’s dedication to improving the welfare of inmates and other vulnerable groups. She stressed that such initiatives contribute to effective custodial management and play a vital role in the rehabilitation and reformation process.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the inmates, the Controller of NCoS, Kano Command, Mr. Ado Inuwa, expressed appreciation to the state government.
He commended Governor Yusuf’s administration for prioritizing inmate welfare, stating that such acts of generosity help foster a sense of inclusion among those in correctional facilities.
