Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated the Commander-General of the Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, on receiving an honorary doctorate in letters from Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto.
The honorary degree was conferred during the university’s 42nd convocation held on September 6, 2025.
Governor Yusuf conveyed his message of goodwill on Wednesday while receiving Daurawa at the opening of the 31st State Executive Council meeting in Kwankwasiyya city.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor described the recognition as a reward for Daurawa’s lifelong service to Islamic scholarship, moral values, and social justice.
“This honor is a testament to your remarkable contribution to Islamic knowledge and your tireless role in promoting morality and societal values in Kano and beyond,” Yusuf said.
He added that Daurawa’s work at the Hisbah Board, particularly his efforts to combat immorality and strengthen community values, has earned him respect across the country.
Governor Yusuf expressed pride that one of Nigeria’s foremost universities had acknowledged Daurawa’s achievements, saying the award also brings honor to Kano State. He pledged his administration’s continued support for Daurawa in his service to humanity and Islam.
On behalf of the government and people of Kano, Yusuf prayed for Allah’s guidance and blessings upon the Hisbah leader to enable him to continue serving society with wisdom and compassion.
