Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state has invited the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) to establish an Air Force Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in the state.
Daily News 24 reports that the governor made the plea on Thursday while receiving the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar at the Kano Government House.
Gov. Yusuf said setting up the girls’ school would complement the existing Boys Comprehensive Secondary School located Dawakin Tofa local government area of the state.
“I requested for the establishment of an Air Force Girls Comprehensive Secondary in Kano to complement the existing Boys Comprehensive Secondary School, in Kwa, Dawakin Tofa Local Government,” the governor wrote in a post on his X handle.

“I used the opportunity to commend the joint force of his troops with sister security agencies in maintaining internal security in Kano.
“I also pledged our readiness to strengthen our partnership with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in the discharge of its operational mandate of ensuring internal peace and stability in the state,” he added.
He expressed pride in the professionalism and track record of Air Marshal Abubakar, acknowledging the Air Force’s efforts in addressing security challenges, particularly in combating kidnappers, bandits, and other criminals in Kano.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting the Air Force and sister security agencies, emphasising the importance of their collaboration in maintaining peace and stability in Kano.
In response, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar, raised concerns about encroachment on NAF land and the reallocation of its property, appealing for the restoration of land dedicated to future expansion.
He also sought Governor Yusuf’s support in connecting the Kano state water facility to the NAF Base for improved access to water supply.
