Dr. Sani, a retired Permanent Secretary and seasoned medical doctor, brings more than 40 years of public service experience to the role. Before his new appointment, he served as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civil Service Matters.

An alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Dr. Sani holds MBBS degrees and has furthered his leadership training with qualifications from Bayero University, Kano, and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.

His past roles include serving as Director General in the Ministries of Health and Commerce, Executive Secretary, and Permanent Secretary in various state institutions. He also previously led Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital and Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital as Chief Medical Director.

Dr. Sani has served on more than 40 national and state-level committees, contributing to healthcare reform, civil service development, and social policy, while also representing Nigeria in international medical and administrative forums.

In another key appointment, Governor Yusuf named Major General Mohammed Sani (Rtd.) as the new Director General of Special Services at the Government House. The retired officer brings over 35 years of military experience, including peacekeeping and national security assignments.

The statement noted that the Office of the Chief of Staff, which had been scrapped in December 2024, has now been reinstated as part of broader reforms aimed at enhancing governance and service delivery.
