Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the reconstitution of the management board of Kano Pillars Football Club, with the appointment of Nigerian international footballer, Ahmed Musa, as the club’s new General Manager.
The decision comes as part of the state government’s renewed drive to improve the club’s performance in the upcoming Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

According to a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the new appointments follow the expiration of the one-year tenure earlier granted to the previous board, which led the team to a 9th-place finish in the last NPFL campaign.
After a series of consultations with stakeholders, most members of the outgoing board have been reappointed, with some key adjustments aimed at enhancing the club’s competitiveness.

In a move that has generated excitement among fans and observers, former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa was named as the new General Manager of the club. The appointment, the statement said, reflects international best practices and is expected to bring leadership and experience that will reposition Kano Pillars as a major force in Nigerian football.
Governor Yusuf expressed optimism that the restructured board will build on the team’s past achievements and deliver stronger results in the forthcoming season.
