Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has reinstated the Ministry of Information, which was previously scrapped by former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

According to a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa, Professor Abubakar Sani Sambo, a former Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, has been appointed as the new Commissioner for Education. His predecessor, Professor Mohammed Sani-Bello, has been redeployed to lead the reestablished Ministry of Information. Gloria Ibrahim was also named Commissioner for Youth Development. All appointments take immediate effect.
The governor congratulated the new appointees and outlined their responsibilities. Professor Sambo is expected to lead reforms in the education sector, focusing on access to education, teacher training, infrastructure development, ICT integration, promotion of girl-child education, and improved school safety.
In the same vein, Gloria Ibrahim is to develop impactful programs and projects that will position the Youth Development Ministry as a hub for empowering young people, in line with the administration’s priorities.
Governor Sani stressed that the appointments are strategic and result-oriented, expressing confidence in the ability of the new commissioners to deliver on their mandates.
