Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has expressed concern over the reported emergence of a new terrorist group known as Wulowulo in the North-Central region of Nigeria.
Speaking during an expanded security meeting held in Lafia, the governor revealed that intelligence reports indicate the group is a splinter faction of the Boko Haram sect. According to him, the activities of Wulowulo have been detected in parts of the North Central, particularly in Kwara State.

Governor Sule called for heightened vigilance to prevent extremist infiltration into Nasarawa State. He directed security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the recent killings in Kokona Local Government Area, where seven people were reportedly killed following a land dispute between the Mada and Ninzom communities.
The governor disclosed that the investigation would be jointly led by the State Commissioner of Police and the Director of the State Security Services (SSS), adding that the state government would not tolerate any form of violence or lawlessness.
He also voiced concern over the rising cases of abduction in Lafia and Karu local government areas, urging security agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering and adopt proactive strategies to curb the menace.
Governor Sule further noted that the appearance of the Wulowulo group, alongside other emerging threats such as the Lakurawa group in Kwara State, poses a serious challenge to regional peace and security.
