Speaking at the event on Tuesday  in Orhuru-Obohia in Ukwa East LGA, Ikpeazu said that the road would be completed within the next six months.

The governor said that the road would connect communities in three LGAs of Ukwa East, Ugbunagbo and Aba South.
He said that the road would ease movement in and around the three local government areas, adding that the project would  be performed with urgency.
Ikpeazu urged members of the benefitting communities to own the road project, cooperate with the project contractor and protect the equipment used for the project to facilitate its timely completion.
In his remarks, the State chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Asiforo Okere, described the road as  ‘strategic’ because of the role it would play in boosting development in the area.
Okere said that the project could be considered as one of the best things that had happened to the communities in the area.
Earlier, Eze Obinna Nwagbara of Orhuru Autonomous Community, said that the road had been in a deplorable state since the time of old Imo, as efforts to fix it had not yielded positive results
Nwagbara thanked the state government for the road project, and added that the road would greatly alleviate the sufferings of the people. (NAN)
