The development was made public on Friday during the swearing-in of the 2025 Batch B Stream I corps members at the orientation camp located in Damare, within Girei Local Government Area.

Governor Fintiri explained that the increase is part of broader efforts to support young people and improve the living conditions of corps members during their service year. He noted that the state government also provides regular support in the form of food supplies and other welfare initiatives to ease their stay.

As part of efforts to strengthen the NYSC scheme in the state, the governor disclosed plans to build a new orientation camp. He instructed the NYSC office in the state to identify corps members with relevant expertise to assist in the oversight of the project.

Fintiri also reminded the new corps members of the need to uphold discipline, promote peaceful coexistence, and contribute positively to the development of their host communities. He said the orientation exercise plays a vital role in preparing them mentally, physically, and socially for the tasks ahead.

Meanwhile, Commissioner for Youths Barrister Wali Yakubu encouraged the corps members to participate actively in the orientation programme and embrace skill acquisition sessions for self-reliance after service.

The NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Osoro Caroline, lauded the governor for prioritizing corps members’ welfare and creating an enabling environment for them to serve. She described his leadership as youth-friendly and responsive.
