According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, the decision comes after the areas, which were previously affected by land disputes last month, have shown signs of stability.
Governor Adeleke stated that the relaxation of the curfew aims to allow students sitting for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB examinations to do so without hindrance. He also praised the traditional rulers and their subjects for their efforts in restoring peace.
A joint security team, comprising the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, will maintain round-the-clock surveillance in the areas to prevent any further unrest.
The governor highlighted the work of the 100-member peace committee tasked with finding a lasting solution to the disputes. He urged the committee to expedite their efforts and for all stakeholders to cooperate in ensuring long-term peace.
