Alhaji Dantata died in the early hours of Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, at the age of 94.

In his condolence message, Gawuna hailed the late industrialist as a man of humility, generosity, and unwavering commitment to humanity. He said Dantata was not only a pillar in Nigeria’s business landscape but also a source of hope and support for thousands through his charitable works.

“Alhaji Aminu Dantata was a father to many, a leader with a deep sense of responsibility, and a man whose life was marked by compassion and vision,” Gawuna stated.

He also noted that Dantata’s influence extended across generations, citing his mentorship of Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and his role in shaping Nigeria’s private sector through decades of enterprise and integrity.

Gawuna prayed for Allah to forgive Dantata’s shortcomings, reward his good deeds, and grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.

“May his family, the people of Kano, and all who benefited from his generosity find strength in the legacy he leaves behind,” he added.
