Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has rejected the resignation of his Chief of Staff, Ali Haruna Makoda and three other Commissioners.
Daily News 24 reports that Ganduje’s Chief of Staff, Ten Commissioners and other Political Appointees from his cabinet tendered their resignation.
Governor Ganduje had given a 48-hour ultimatum to all political appointees seeking elective positions to resign.
A statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, did not give a reason for the rejection of their resignation.
The Commissioners approved by the Governor include; Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Murtala Sule Garo, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Ibrahim Ahmad Karaye, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mahmud Muhammad Santsi, Commissioner for Housing and Transport.
Others include; Muntari Ishaq Yakasai, Commissioner for Special Duties, Musa Ilyas Kwankwaso, Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, and Kabiru Ado Lakwaya, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje thanked them, wished them well in their future endeavours and directed Permanent Secretaries of their Ministries to take charge immediately.
However, the Chief of Staff and all other Commissioners are directed to continue carrying out their duties in their respective ministries.
Recall that the Commissioner for Water Resources, Sadiq Aminu Wali, resigned his position to contest for Governorship under the Peoples’ Democratic Party PDP platform.
