Fubara dismissed the claim in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, and released in Port Harcourt on Monday. He condemned reports of alleged attacks on oil facilities, stating that communities where explosions were reported had refuted such claims. According to him, the allegations were aimed at damaging his reputation.
Fubara also decried the circulation of fake videos attempting to associate Fubara’s supporters with militant activities. He reaffirmed the governor’s commitment to peace and distanced him from any criminal elements.
Fubara warned against attacks on government infrastructure and urged criminals to leave the state. He also called on bloggers and social media influencers to stop spreading misinformation, which he said had led to poor decisions and slowed Rivers State’s progress.
Additionally, Fubara urged security agencies to address the spread of misleading videos and narratives, calling for action against those responsible to prevent further damage to the state’s image.
