The Kogi State House of Assembly complex has been burned down by fire in an early mooring inferno.

The fire on Monday destroyed the roof of the Chamber, causing extensive damage to the floor of the house located at Crusher Area, Lokoja.

The Speaker of the house, Mathew Kolawole, and the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara, were among the early callers at the assembly complex.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

The Speaker of the Assembly said that he suspects sabotage but did not mention where the suspected sabotage might be from.

“We should leave security people to do their work and give us a report going forward,” the speaker stated.

However, he said that this would not prevent the assembly from playing out its obligation as the resolution of the house concerning Dangote Cement Plc stands.
