Four people were reported dead following a fire outbreak in Anguwar Malamai of Kwaba ward of Zaria local government area.
An eye witness said the fire which started around 6.30 am Monday burnt an entire room with a mother and four children.
“The mother, Hauwa Musa Kalla was the only one who is still alive but sustained severe injuries, and is currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital,” he said.
Mutawakkilu Yusuf Rafin Yashi, Spokesman of the area said “the four children who lost their lives include Salisu Musa Kalla aged 14, Ainau Musa Kalla aged 11, Safara Musa Kalla aged 9 and Ilham Musa Kalla aged 7.
Daily Trust reports the inferno started as a result of petrol jerrycan bought by her husband for his irrigation farming generator and kept in the room.
“The wife who was not aware, took fire after into the room which resulted to the inferno,” he stated.
