The warning was issued by the National Orientation Agency (NOA) through a letter signed by its Director-General, Lanre Issa-Onilu on Monday. The agency expressed displeasure over a video where Sarkinmota promoted a 2023 Mercedes Benz C300 featuring Artificial Intelligence. In the clip, he asked the AI if civil servants could afford the luxury car, and the response was, “No, maybe in 2062.”
The NOA condemned the content of the advert, describing it as disrespectful to civil servants who play a key role in running the affairs of government and supporting national development. It said such remarks were in poor taste and undermined the dignity of workers who contribute to the functioning of the country.
The agency urged Sarkinmota to be more mindful of his language in future advertisements to avoid offending any segment of the population.
It also emphasized the need for public figures and business owners to promote messages that encourage respect for all professions and foster national unity.
