FG orders closure of Federal Secretariat , roads in celebration of Armed Forces Day

The Federal Government has ordered the closure of roads accessing Arcade, the phase I, II and III of the Federal Secretariat complexes and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.
Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF) gave the directive in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by Mr AbudulGaniyu Aminu, Director of Communications, Office of the HOCSF.
The closure, Yemi-Esan said is in view of the upcoming activities marking the 2022 celebration of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day set aside to honour the fallen heroes.
“The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan is pleased to inform Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and indeed the general public of the closure of access roads to the Arcade, Federal Secretariat Complex and environs on Friday by 2  p.m prompt.
“This is in view of the upcoming activities marking the 2022 celebration of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day set aside to honour our fallen heroes.”
The event, she said, involves the Wreath laying ceremony by President Muhammadu Buhari, and other top government officials and members of the Diplomatic Corps which will hold on Saturday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the AFRD is observed every Jan. 15 to honour fallen heroes of the Nigerian Armed Forces in various wars and national assignments. (NAN)
