The Federal Government has declared Sunday, March 31, and Monday, April 1, as public holidays in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan and urged them to uphold values such as self-discipline, kindness, and generosity. He emphasized the significance of love, forgiveness, and unity in fostering a peaceful society.
He also encouraged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for the country’s stability and prosperity while promoting harmony across religious and ethnic divides.
The Minister urged citizens to celebrate responsibly and extend support to the less privileged through acts of charity. He also conveyed warm Eid Mubarak wishes on behalf of the government, expressing hope that the season brings happiness and fulfillment to all.
