The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday celebrations.

Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement in a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani. He extended warm greetings to Christians across the country as they commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to reflect on the essence of the season by embracing the values of sacrifice and love, as demonstrated by Christ’s sacrifice for humanity’s redemption.
He also called on citizens to use the Easter period to offer prayers for peace, unity, and stability in the country.
The minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at advancing national growth and development.
