A former Kannywood actress, Fatima Usman popularly known as Fati Slow has died, according to a post by a fellow actress, Mansurah Isah, on her Instagram Page.

Daily News 24 reports that Ms Slow was said to have in Ethiopia, the social media post stated.

Ms Mansura revealed that Ms Slow died on Monday, adding that she would be buried in Ethiopia.

“She would be buried abroad but condolences would be received at her family home in Unguwa Uku (in Kano),” Ms Mansura added.

Ms Slow who was one of the Hausa movie’s industries most popular stars in the 2000s was famous for her “Kebura” and “Nobody is fafet”, humorous slogans.

According to Aminiya Hausa newspaper, a Hausa community leader at Abeche, the headquarters of Lardin Quaddai in eastern Chad, confirmed Ms Slow’s demise on Tuesday.

The newspaper added that “from all indications Fati Slow had lived in Abeche for some time with her husband, before moving to Tina, a border town between Chad and Sudan, where she died”.

The Kannywood industry has recently lost veteran actors and directors including Hajiya Saratu Gidado aka Daso and Aminu S. Bono.
