Former Kano State Commissioner for Education, Muhammad Sanusi S. Kiru, has accused the state government of selling plots of land belonging to the demolished Maikwatashi Secondary School, with each plot allegedly going for N100 million.

In a letter addressed to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Kiru condemned the decision to relocate the school to Kaura Goje without completing the new buildings, describing it as a move that has brought hardship to both students and teachers.

He explained that during his tenure as commissioner, a similar relocation was only carried out after a new school had been fully constructed to ensure academic activities continued without disruption.

Kiru advised that rather than disposing of the school land, the government could have converted it into a public-use facility such as a sports complex or a community development center to serve the people.
