Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that his decision was driven by the need for a more visionary collaboration to advance both the state and the nation.
Governor Mbah made the announcement on Tuesday during a press conference in Enugu, the state capital, where he reaffirmed his commitment to the development and prosperity of the state.

Explaining his decision, Mbah said his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was not an easy one, but a necessary step to align with a political platform that shared his vision for transformation.
“I have found in His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a partner in purpose, a man with the courage to look beyond today and make the tough choices that secure lasting prosperity for tomorrow,” he stated.
The governor’s move received overwhelming support from political leaders across the state, including members of the National Assembly, the State House of Assembly, local government chairmen, councilors, and over 80 percent of party executives.
While expressing gratitude to the PDP for their past support, Mbah noted that the party had failed to adequately consider the interests and voices of the South-East.
