The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has warned that anyone plotting unrest in the state will face severe consequences.

Speaking during a special Iftar gathering at his palace, Sanusi addressed opposition to his reinstatement, declaring that “fire will consume those seeking to cause trouble in Kano.”

The Emir described resistance to his leadership as defiance of divine will and cautioned that those involved would ultimately face misfortune. He encouraged residents to remain patient, pray for peace, and trust that justice would prevail.

His warning comes as Kano prepares for the Sallah celebrations. Governor Abba Yusuf has directed emirate councils to begin preparations for the Sallah durbar to ensure a smooth and festive event.

Meanwhile, tensions persist as deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero has informed security agencies of his plans to hold a separate durbar and mark his fifth year as monarch, keeping the emirship dispute alive.
