The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has reiterated his commitment to personally and peacefully escort the newly crowned District Head of Bichi, Munir Sanusi Bayero, to his domain, despite recent threats from security agents.

The Emir made this statement during a visit by a delegation of traditional and religious leaders, led by Alhaji Hamza Sule, Chairman of Bichi Local Government, on Wednesday at his Gidan Kofar Kudu Palace in Kano.

Sanusi assured the people of Bichi that the Emirate Council would ensure the peaceful transfer of their District Head. “I will personally take the District Head to Bichi peacefully. A date will be set, and he will be brought to you,” he said.

This assurance comes after security personnel had reportedly barricaded the entrance to the Emir’s palace less than a week ago. Sources from the palace revealed that the District Head was scheduled to depart for Bichi to assume his duties on that day, but was unable to do so due to the heavy security presence.

“The incident was just a distraction, and we still do not know why it happened. The individuals involved have not given any explanation. However, this will not stop us from fulfilling our promise. Another day will be scheduled, and the District Head will be brought to you peacefully,” Sanusi assured the people of Bichi.

He further urged the public to remain calm, emphasizing that peace and prayer would see them through. “Whatever the situation, peace and prayer will surely take us to the end of the tunnel,” he added.

Alhaji Hamza Sule, speaking on behalf of the people of Bichi, reaffirmed their support for the Emir. “Even on the day of the planned visit, we were fully prepared to receive you. We heard about the crisis only after preparations were in place. The people of Bichi, from the Imams to the Village Heads, stand behind your royalty, and we are solidly in support of your decisions regarding our domain,” he stated.
