The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has directed all district heads under the Kano Emirate to assemble in Kano city ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir durbar scheduled for next week.

The directive was contained in an official letter issued by the Secretary of the Kano Emirate Council, Alhaji Abba Yusuf Danmakwayon Kano.
According to the statement, the district heads and other members of the traditional council are expected to arrive in Kano with their horses and ceremonial riders on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, which corresponds to the 8th of Dhul Hijjah, 1446 AH.
They are to pay homage to the Emir at the palace on Thursday, June 5, at exactly 11:00 a.m., where they will receive further instructions and participate in a briefing session. Following the visit, a formal meeting will be held with the district heads at the council chamber in Kofar Kudu to discuss the detailed plans for this year’s durbar festivities.
The statement further noted that chairmen of local government councils have been contacted to assist in transporting the traditional leaders from their various locations to Kano for the celebration.
